She received her undergraduate degree from Davidson College. Dr. Dryden works with infants, toddlers, children, and their families. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders. Her interests also include social and emotional functioning and early childhood development. Dr. Dryden also provides a weekly ADHD Group and is offering a Parenting Skills Group for parents of infants and toddlers. Dr. Dryden's theoretical perspective when working with children and families is derived from a strengths-based approach. This approach emphasizes a child's special abilities and resilience, as opposed to areas of weakness. Dr. Dryden draws upon this strengths-based approach during developmental and educational evaluations. She also draws from an ecological and family systems approach to treatment, which considers a child's development in relation to broader family and community contexts. Dr. Dryden is trained in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) for intervention with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders. She is also certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with children and families, as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for adolescents and young adults.
